Prof. Benard Ifeanyi Odoh has been appointed the 7th substantive Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, and he has pledged to prioritize the interests of all staff during his tenure.
In his acceptance speech delivered on Tuesday, Prof. Odoh emphasized the need for unity, declaring it time to move beyond the prejudices and doubts that arose during the search for the university’s top position.
“I understand the concerns and skepticism, but I believe you will judge me on my performance, not on hearsay,” he stated.
“I am committed to serving you well, and together we will elevate our university to greatness. Thank you all,” Prof. Odoh added.
Born on August 5, 1975, in Ebonyi State, he is a Professor of Applied Geophysics. Previously, he served as the Secretary to the Ebonyi State Government from 2015 to 2018 and was the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in Ebonyi State in 2023 general election.
