Former Delta State Deputy Governor, Professor Amos Utuama, has died.
Utuama, who was from Ughievwen in the Ughelli South local government area, passed away at the age of 77 in the early hours of Saturday in Lagos after a prolonged illness.
Political associates of the deceased Senior Advocate of Nigeria confirmed his passing to journalists in Warri, Delta State.
Utuama served as deputy governor under former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan from 2007 to 2015, representing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He also held the position of Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of Delta State during the administration of former Governor James Ibori.
