At least 16 people have died in a devastating auto crash on Njaba Bridge in the Njaba local government area of Imo State on Tuesday.
Located on the Owerri-Orlu Expressway, this narrow-edged bridge has a history of fatal accidents.
Witnesses reported that a commercial vehicle lost control, crashing headlong into the railings before plunging into the river below.
Due to the cramped seating arrangement in the bus and the ensuing panic, rescuers found the passengers already deceased when they arrived to assist.
