The National Grid has experienced another collapse, plunging the county into darkness once again.
This incident, which occurred at 11:28 AM on Thursday, marks the second collapse this week and the tenth in 2024.
A review of the Independent System Operator, the autonomous arm of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), revealed that all power plants connected to the grid produced no electricity by 12 PM.
The ISO’s website indicated that the generating plants produced an average of 2,323 megawatts of electricity at 11 AM, but registered 0.00 MW by 12 PM.
As of this report, TCN has not provided an explanation for the collapse.
Confirming the development, Jos Disco stated that the current outage being experienced within its franchise is a result of loss of power supply from the national grid.
“The loss of power supply from the national grid occurred this morning at about 11:28 hours of today, Thursday, 7th November 2024, hence the loss of power supply on all our feeders.”
“We hope to restore normal power supply to our esteemed customers as soon as the grid supply is restored back to normalcy.”
