The immediate past governor of Edo state, Godwin Obaseki, has embarked on a vacation to “rest and undergo extended medical checks”.
This was disclosed by the ex-governor’s media aide, Crusoe Osagie in a statement on Wednesday.
Osagie in the statement, didn’t state where Obaseki would undertake his vacation.
Obaseki finished his two-term of eight years on November 11 after handing over to Monday Okpebholo, the new governor of the state.
Osagia said Obaseki, “Once again expressed his appreciation to God Almighty and the people of Edo state and Nigeria for the opportunity to serve”.
“He urged all Edo people, both at home and in the diaspora, to continue to be hopeful and pray for the peace, progress, and prosperity of our state and Nigeria,” Osagie added.
