The Enugu State government has announced a new training program for youth in animation.

Arinze Chilo-Offiah, the Special Adviser to the Governor on MSMEs and Digital Economy, emphasized that this initiative reflects Dr. Peter Mbah’s commitment “to equipping our youths with the digital skills essential for success in today’s rapidly changing world.”

Chilo-Offiah noted that the training is in partnership with Magic City Labs, a subsidiary of Magic Labs Studio, a globally renowned academy specializing in Animation, Game Design, VFX, and Filmmaking, with illustrious clients like Disney, Cartoon Network, and Netflix.

This program will provide 400 young individuals in Enugu with the chance to become proficient in “Motion Design and Animation,” where they will acquire in-demand skills in Animation and 3D Motion Design from industry experts, gaining a competitive advantage in the flourishing Animation and VFX sector, which is growing by 17% annually.

Participants will benefit from 80% subsidized training fees, making world-class education accessible to everyone. They will gain hands-on experience, receive a globally recognized certificate, and develop a portfolio to showcase their talents to potential employers or clients.

Hon. Chilo-Offiah explained that the curriculum will cover a range of topics from Animation Fundamentals to Advanced 3D Motion Design Techniques, all taught by experts from Magic Labs Studio, enabling participants to “build a career in a lucrative industry and join the global workforce.”

He further revealed that “the opportunity is open to all indigenes and residents of Enugu State aged 16-35 who are passionate about Animation, Storytelling, Design, or Visual Effects. Interested applicants can apply through this link: www.enugusme.en.gov.ng/emat.”

He encouraged young people to seize this opportunity to “position yourself for success in a global industry while contributing to the growth of Enugu State’s digital economy. The future is digital, and your journey begins here!”
