The Senator representing Abia South Senatorial District, Enyinnaya Abaribe, has commended the arrest of self-styled Biafra agitator Simon Ekpa in Finland.
Ekpa was arrested in Finland alongside four others over alleged terrorism and instigating violence.
Reacting to the development, the former senate minority leader said the arrest “marks a turning point and something that is very welcome.
Speaking on Channel TV’s ‘Politics Today,” the Lawmakers said that the arrest “will tell all those people at home who are purveyors of violence that are being instigated by Simon Ekpa that he (Ekpa) actually said that he’s just a content creator that he’s not a prime minister.
“We’ve always said that what he’s tried to direct from there is antithetical to what Igbos stand for and that’s very wrong.”
Abaribe added that some of these agitators are using the love Igbos have for Biafra to commits crimes and “whatever they say they’re doing in the south east isn’t supported by anybody in the South East. All you have is a band of criminals.”
