Yahaya Bello, the former Governor of Kogi State, has finally turned himself in to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) amid allegations of misappropriating over N100 billion during his time in office.
Accompanied by his lawyers, Bello arrived at the EFCC office on Tuesday morning, following a Supreme Court ruling that dismissed state challenges to the agency’s constitutionality.
The former governor reportedly drove himself in a black Hilux to the agency’s headquarters.
During the last hearing on November 14, the EFCC requested an adjournment until November 27 for the new case it has filed against Bello, citing that the 30-day timeframe for the earlier summons was still in effect.
