An early morning fire on Monday engulfed the market in Trademore Estate, one of Abuja’s popular locales, located off Umar Musa YarAdua/Airport Road.

While the cause of the blaze remains unclear, a resident named Joe reported that he noticed the incident around 4 a.m.

“We do not know the cause of the fire yet, but we cannot discount the possibility of an electrical issue,” he stated.

“We are currently trying to contact both the Federal Fire Service and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Fire Service. The situation is tense,” he added.

Joe mentioned that residents managed to alert the fire service at Dunamis Church, and they arrived on the scene around 5 a.m.

In an update, Joe later informed that the fire had been extinguished.

“Two hours after the fire broke out, the Federal Fire Service teams from EFCC and Sauka Station successfully put it out,” Joe told Vanguard.
