Thugs stormed the Edo State High Court in Benin, disrupting the pre-hearing session regarding the validity of the September 21 governorship election results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), reports FIJ.
On Monday morning, supporters of seven political parties contesting the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) victory arrived at the court, only to be met with a barrage of projectiles from unidentified assailants outside the courtroom.
In response, security agents barricaded the court entrance and established a roadblock along the route leading to the court.
