Under the progressive leadership of H.E. Dr. Peter Mbah, Enugu State is poised to harness the opportunities presented by the National Startup Act, aiming to transform its tech and innovation landscape.
At the recent Enugu Startup Ecosystem Stakeholder Meeting, influential stakeholders convened to discuss the localisation of the Startup Act and its potential to enhance regulatory efficiency, stimulate innovation, and improve funding accessibility for startups and entrepreneurs throughout the state.
Arinze Chilo-Offiah, Special Adviser to Enugu State Governor on MSMEs and Digital Economy as well as Director-General of the Enugu SME Agency, articulated the vision for the state, stating:
“Enugu is creating a dynamic ecosystem where startups can scale globally under the visionary leadership of H.E. Dr. Peter Mbah.
“As Enugu State embarks on this transformative journey, the alignment with the National Startup Act signifies a commitment to fostering an environment conducive to innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable growth.
“The collaborative efforts of stakeholders will be crucial in realising the full potential of the startup ecosystem, propelling Enugu to the forefront of Nigeria’s technological and economic advancement.”
Ugochukwu Aronu, an entrepreneur and prominent figure in the ecosystem, and Founder of XendFinance and Wicrypt, emphasized the importance of leveraging local human capital, asserting:
“Enugu must leverage its human capital to thrive within its unique nuances.”
