On Friday night, the Christ Apostolic Church in Ibadan, Oyo State was consumed by a fire outbreak.
Reports indicate that the blaze broke out during the church’s night vigil, trapping several worshippers inside the building.
Local sources stated that the fire began at around 9.30 pm in the church located in Wisdom Estate, Road 1G, Olohunda Road, within the Lagelu Local Government Area of Oyo.
One witness recounted, “There was an elderly woman, so frail that she could barely walk. She was still inside the church when the flames were raging fiercely.”
Akinyemi Akinyinka, the general manager of the Oyo State Fire Services, confirmed the incident and stated that firefighters were already responding to the situation.
He added, “Our team arrived promptly following information from a man named Kunle Junaid.”
