The Zamfara State Government has successfully reclaimed the Stonehenge Hotel, a state-owned property located in Abuja’s Central Business District, as part of Governor Dauda Lawal’s initiative to recover misappropriated government assets.
The hotel, leased by the previous administration for an unprecedented 14 years without any payments to the state, is projected to generate significant revenue, potentially amounting to hundreds of millions of naira, for Zamfara State.
In a statement released on Monday, the Zamfara State Government confirmed that this recovery aligns with Governor Lawal’s commitment to reclaim public assets that were misused or improperly allocated by previous administrations.
“The ongoing recovery mission ensures that state-owned assets are brought back into public use for the benefit of Zamfara citizens,” the statement added.
The government reiterated its dedication to ensuring accountability and safeguarding public resources, promising to provide further updates as investigations into the matter continue.
