A Central Criminal Court in England sentenced Urfan Sharif, a father, to 40 years in prison, and his partner, Beinash Batool, to 33 years, after they were found guilty of murdering 10-year-old Sara Sharif.

The victim’s uncle, Faisal Malik, was also sentenced to 16 years in prison after being convicted of causing or allowing his niece’s death.

Prosecutors revealed that Malik, along with Sharif and Batool, fled to Islamabad, Pakistan, on August 9, 2023, taking the victim’s five siblings with them after the murder of the young girl.

Sharif later contacted UK police, claiming he had “legally punished her, and she died,” admitting he had “beaten her up too much.”

The trio were apprehended on suspicion of murder when they returned to Britain more than a month after their escape, but they did not bring the children back with them.

“Sara’s death resulted from years of neglect, repeated assaults, and what can only be described as torture of this small child. The level of cruelty is almost incomprehensible, and none of you have shown a shred of genuine remorse,” stated Justice John Cavanagh. “Beinash Batool, you did not stand in Urfan Sharif’s way; rather, you encouraged him in his assaults.”

The deceased girl’s mother, Olga Sharif, labelled the convicts as “executioners.”

A post-mortem examination revealed that Sara had sustained over 70 external injuries, including 11 fractures to her spine, signs of a traumatic brain injury, six likely human bite marks, an iron burn, and scalding from hot water, leading to her death on August 8, 2023.

Police also discovered a note in the father’s handwriting beside her body.

“Whoever sees this note, it’s me, Urfan Sharif, who killed my daughter by beating,” the note read.
