The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted approval for 16 degree programmes at the newly established Federal University of Allied Health Sciences Enugu (FUAHSE).

In October this year, the NUC conducted a resource verification visit to the university to assess its capacity for the proposed degree programmes in Allied Health Sciences.

During an expanded management meeting on Wednesday, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof John Emaimo, announced the approval.

The approved programmes include: Nursing Sciences, Medical Laboratory Science, Radiography, Social Work, Public Health, Dental Technology, Dental Therapy, Medical Rehabilitation Therapy (Physiotherapy), and Prosthetics and Orthotics.

Additionally, the programmes encompass Health Information Management, Healthcare Management, Biomedical Engineering, Human Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, and Microbiology.

The Vice-Chancellor confirmed that the university will soon commence these academic programmes and emphasised that the institution intends to adopt a creative approach to its operations.

He also announced that the admissions process has officially begun, encouraging interested candidates to apply.

He urged the public to disregard any claims from individuals or groups attempting to facilitate the admission process outside the established procedures.
