In the spirit of the festive season, the Chizitere Care Foundation, a non-profit, non-governmental organisation founded by Barrister Bonita Ngozi Oneh, Principal Counsel of B.N. Oneh & Associates, has successfully completed the distribution of free clothing across various communities in Enugu State.
This charitable endeavour, aimed at supporting underprivileged families during the Yuletide period, has brought joy and warmth to many recipients. Barrister Oneh disclosed that the initiative aligns with the foundation’s commitment to nurturing the mental, psychological, spiritual, and emotional well-being of mothers and children within society.
The distribution event, held on the 17th and 18th of December, 2024, witnessed the foundation’s team engaging with local residents, delivering essential items such as bales of clothing, accessories, baby items, blankets, and warm clothing across various villages, including one in Ako Nike, Enugu East LGA, Nigeria.
“We believe that every individual deserves to feel warm and cared for, especially during this festive season,” remarked Barrister Oneh. “Our goal is to spread love and kindness, ensuring that those who are less fortunate can also partake in the joy of Yuletide.”
The founder further emphasised that the Chizitere Care Foundation remains steadfast in its mission of community development and support. “For years, our organisation has organised charity programmes, including enlightening seminars, small business empowerment initiatives, and free counselling and legal services aimed at mitigating depression and its effects.
“This year, we have sponsored numerous activities for the well-being of individuals in Enugu State and beyond. The Christmas outreach is our final project for 2024.”
Barrister Oneh expressed admiration for the efforts of Enugu State’s Governor, Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, urging him to pay crucial attention to the mental health and psychological wellness of the state’s residents.
Some of the beneficiaries, including Mrs Oji, conveyed their gratitude for the support, acknowledging the profound impact such initiatives have on their lives. “This donation means so much to us,” said Mrs Oji, a recipient from Akọ Nike community. “It’s a reminder that we are not forgotten, especially during this special time of year.”
Expecting mothers that got the gift items that identified themselves simply as Mrs.Orabueze and Mrs. Maria said a heavy burden has been lifted from their shoulder by the foundation while praying to God to bless the founder, Barr. Oneh and her team members.
