The Federal Institute of Industrial Research Oshodi (FIIRO) has suffered significant damage as a fire broke out at its headquarters, which continues to burn into the early hours of Thursday morning.

The blaze reportedly ignited around midnight on Christmas Day and has persisted into Boxing Day.

Firefighting teams from the Lagos State Fire & Rescue Service responded promptly to the scene to contain the fire, which has proven challenging to extinguish. Their primary focus is on preventing the further spread of the flames to adjacent structures.

Initial reports indicate that millions of naira in property have been lost due to the fire; however, there have been no reports of casualties as of yet.

Authorities are actively engaged in efforts to manage the situation and assess the full extent of the damage.
