Troops from the 1 Brigade of the Sector 2 Joint Task Force North West, engaged in Operation Fansan Yamma, have successfully neutralised several terrorists, including the infamous kingpin Alhaji Ma’oli.
The operation unfolded in Mai Sheka village, close to Kunchin Kalgo town, an area that had long suffered under Ma’oli’s brutal regime. He was notorious for imposing illegal levies on the residents of Unguwan Rogo, Mai Sheka, Magazawa, and other surrounding communities within Bilbis in Tsafe LGA of Zamfara State.
Ma’oli’s elimination has brought a sense of relief and excitement to the local population in the Bilbis area.
In a statement, Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre for Operation Fansan Yamma, noted that the operation that resulted in the terrorist’s death was initiated following intelligence reports about terrorists on motorcycles operating within the Bilbis District, Tsafe LGA, Zamfara State.
“The swift response from our troops not only thwarted the terrorists’ plans to attack the local residents but also demonstrated our commitment to securing the area from further acts of violence,” he stated.
“Operation Fansan Yamma remains determined to pursue and neutralise all remaining terrorists and their collaborators throughout the Joint Task Force Theatre of Operation. The Joint Task Force will continue to work tirelessly with local communities to achieve lasting peace and security in Zamfara State and beyond.”
