The naira appreciated against the dollar in the foreign exchange market as work resumed following the Christmas holidays.
Data from FMDQ revealed that the naira strengthened to N1,534 per dollar on Friday, up from N1,540.45 on Tuesday, gaining N6.45 in value.
In the black market, the naira closed at N1,650 per dollar on Friday, a slight decrease compared to the range of N1,638 to N1,650 that was recorded on Tuesday.
This trend highlights the ongoing fluctuations of Africa’s most populous nation’s currency in the FX market over the past few days.
According to DAILY POST, FX turnover rose to N23.95 trillion at the end of November 2024, as reported by FMDQ data.
