The Kano State Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party, Hashimu Dungurawa, warned President Bola Tinubu on Thursday to brace for a substantial defeat in the 2027 elections.

He asserted that the alleged anti-people policies of the Tinubu-led Federal Government had united Nigerians behind the NNPP as they prepare for the upcoming general election.

Dungurawa expressed confidence that the NNPP would secure victories across all 36 states, including the presidential race.

“With your unfriendly and anti-people policies, prepare for defeat in the next general election. You must either amend your ways, or Nigerians will collectively remove you,” Dungurawa declared.

While addressing journalists in Kano, he recounted how since his inauguration on May 29, 2023, Tinubu’s policies have created hardship for the Nigerian populace.

“From the podium on May 29, 2023, President Tinubu began implementing anti-people policies as if Nigerians had wronged him. He has repeatedly imposed unfavourable policies on us, and this continues to this day.

“Given these challenges and many others deliberately orchestrated by the All Progressives Congress-led government, it is only a matter of time before we ensure Tinubu is ousted in 2027, making way for Dr Rabiu Kwankwaso, a true democrat,” he stated.

The chairman highlighted that the party had established offices and built structures in states and local government areas nationwide, emphasising that this development signified the NNPP’s potential to win both state and federal elections in 2027.

He noted the NNPP’s successes in 2024 and its trajectory towards achieving even more in 2025.

“You are all witnesses to the fact that we are fortunate to have a God-fearing governor who has transformed Kano State through infrastructure, empowerment, and human development.

“Kano can now compete favourably with any modern city globally, particularly due to the state-of-the-art facilities established in both metropolitan and rural areas,” he added.

Dungurawa acknowledged that the main challenge facing the party was the alleged intention of the Federal Government to impose a one-party system on the nation.

He therefore urged the Federal Government to prioritise the development of policies that would genuinely alleviate the suffering of the masses.

He dismissed as unfounded rumours suggesting that the party’s national leader, Rabiu Kwankwaso, intended to rejoin the APC.

The NNPP chairman asserted that such rumours were orchestrated to undermine Kwankwaso’s reputation and growing popularity.
