Alhaji Muhammadu Bello Sifawa, the Secretary to the Sokoto State Government, tragically lost his daughter and three grandchildren in a fire outbreak during the early hours of Monday.
The incident occurred at the home of his daughter, who was married to Alhaji Muhammadu Yusuf Bello, the Permanent Secretary of the state Ministry of Sports and Youth Development.
The fire broke out in the dead of night, engulfing the entire house while the family slept. Sadly, only the husband, Alhaji Muhammadu Yusuf Bello, managed to escape the flames.
As of this report, the cause of the fire is still under investigation, while the state fire service battled for hours to bring the blaze under control.
The remains of the deceased housewife and her three children are set to be interred at Sheikh Shehu Usmanu Danfodiyo Mosque Sifawa at approximately midnight today. The burial will take place at the SSG’s family home.
