The Managing Director of Mainpower Electricity Distribution Limited (MEDL), Dr Ernest Mupwaya, has emphasised the importance of collaboration with customers and key stakeholders to achieve operational excellence, asserting that such cooperation will bring about a transformation in power supply across Enugu State.
Dr Mupwaya stated this during a visit from the traditional ruler of Ikenga Umulumgbe Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Igwe Christian Obinna Ozor, who came to the MEDL headquarters in Enugu for a courtesy call.
The monarch, accompanied by members of his cabinet, congratulated MEDL on its new role as the distribution company for Enugu State and commended the organisation for its improved services, despite the challenges faced in the sector. He also voiced concerns regarding difficulties encountered by his community, particularly issues related to vandalism and service interruptions.
To support MEDL, Igwe Ozor expressed his community’s willingness to provide office space for the organisation, enabling residents to easily access the office to pay their electricity bills and conduct other transactions without the need for long-distance travel.
In his welcoming remarks, Dr Mupwaya thanked the monarch and his team for their visit and generous offer, assuring them that the company would carefully evaluate the issues raised and seek effective solutions.
He also called for ongoing collaboration with the community to ensure that electricity assets in the area are adequately safeguarded against vandalism.
Dr Mupwaya reiterated the company’s commitment to delivering reliable power and enhancing service delivery throughout Enugu State.
