As former Governor Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi celebrates his 61st birthday, a wave of heartfelt tributes fills the air. One of his former aides, Hon. Tochukwu Ogbodo, describes him as a leader whose impact has left lasting footprints in the hearts of many.
In an emotional and reflective birthday message sent to newsmen Thursday, Hon. Ogbodo commended the former governor not only for his time in office but for the quiet strength, kindness, and compassion that characterised his leadership.
Hon. Ogbodo, who served as a Special Assistant during Ugwuanyi’s administration, recalled how the former governor had the remarkable ability to recognise potential in ordinary individuals and provided them with opportunities to make a difference.
He noted that Ugwuanyi’s decision to appoint him into his government was transformative, opening doors and fostering confidence. “He made me believe in myself and revealed the true essence of leadership.”
The tribute also emphasised Ugwuanyi’s calm and humble nature, highlighting his commitment to fostering peace, unity, and the welfare of the people, rather than indulging in empty rhetoric.
According to Ogbodo, Ugwuanyi’s governance prioritised stability, ensuring that everyone, regardless of status or background, felt a sense of belonging. “He embraced everyone and never turned away the less fortunate.”
He further portrayed Ugwuanyi as more than just a political leader; he is a father figure to many who have benefitted from his generosity and compassionate governance. Ogbodo expressed deep gratitude for the former governor’s constant display of patience, love, and sincerity in both public and private life.
Hon. Tochukwu Ogbodo concluded by praying for the continued good health and longevity of Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, asserting that his good deeds will continue to resonate long after today. “Many of us are better individuals because of him.”
The message reads:
