Members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) will start receiving the newly reviewed federal allowance of N77,000.00 per month beginning in March 2025.
The Director General (DG) of NYSC, Brig. Gen. Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, announced this while addressing Corps members serving in the Federal Capital Territory at the NYSC Zonal Office in Wuse Zone 3 and the Old Parade Ground in Garki Area on Thursday.
He informed them that the Ministry of Finance had confirmed that the funds for disbursement were ready.
He explained that the delay in implementing the new allowance was due to the late signing of the 2025 appropriation bill.
While expressing appreciation to the Corps members for upholding the ideals of the NYSC’s founders by promoting national unity, integration, and development, the NYSC leader encouraged them to embrace the principles encapsulated in the NYSC Anthem.
Brig. Gen. Nafiu also urged the Corps members to make use of all communication channels provided by the Scheme to voice any complaints or suggestions that could enhance its operations.
