A Joint Security Team has rescued three kidnap victims in Anambra State, as confirmed by SP Ikenga Tochukwu, the Spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command.
In his statement, SP Ikenga revealed that the rescue took place at 7:20 am today, 22nd March 2025, along the Onitsha/Owerri Express Road in Ozubulu.
He explained that various security checkpoints across the state were promptly alerted following the report of the abduction in Nkwelle-Ezunaka, which enabled the team to launch a potential rescue operation and pursue the suspects.
He also mentioned that “the victims were immediately transported to the hospital by the joint security team due to the various injuries inflicted upon them by their captors. They are currently responding to treatment and will be debriefed by the police afterwards.”
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc MNIPS PhD, while urging the operatives to intensify their efforts in capturing the criminals, assured the residents of Anambra of the Command’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property, and vowed to continue the fight against crime to prevent further violence.
