Han Jong-Hee, the co-CEO of Samsung Electronics, has died of a heart attack on Tuesday at the age of 63.
A spokesperson for the South Korean tech giant confirmed the news.
Han, who managed Samsung’s consumer electronics and mobile devices businesses, became the Chief Executive Officer of South Korea’s largest company in 2022.
He joined the tech giant in 1988 after earning a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Inha University. Prior to leading Samsung’s electronics and devices division, he was responsible for the display operations.
In a tribute to Han, Samsung acknowledged his dedication of over 37 years to transforming the company’s TV business into a global leader. The company stated that under his leadership of the electronics and appliances divisions, he played a significant role in fostering growth despite a challenging business environment.
