The Anambra State Police Command has announced significant achievements in its efforts to combat crime and ensure public safety.
According to Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, the Command recorded the notable breakthroughs in the past two weeks, including the rescue of kidnapped victims and the recovery of arms and ammunition.
Notable Achievements:
Rescue of Kidnapped Victims: Four kidnapped victims, including a Catholic reverend father, were rescued by a joint security team comprising the Police, Military, and other security operatives.
Recovery of Arms and Ammunition: Ten arms of assorted brands, sixteen expended cartridges, and forty-six live ammunition were recovered by the Police.
Arrest of Suspects: Over ten suspects were arrested in connection with various crimes, including kidnapping and armed robbery.
The Police Commissioner also commended the “support of sister agencies, Anambra State Vigilantes, and other security operatives in the Command’s efforts to ensure public safety.”
He noted that the Police will continue to work in synergy with these stakeholders to enhance operational capacity, security dominance, and tactical efficiency.
“The Anambra State Police Command wishes to assure residents of its commitment to ensuring their safety and security, and urges everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.”
