The controversy surrounding the Supreme Court judgement of March 21, 2025 on who is the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has been finally put to rest.
The Certified True Copy (CTC) of the judgement confirms that the judgment was in Senator Samuel Anyanwu’s favour.
The apex court after listening to all the parties ordered as follows:
i. that the Appeal is meritorious and it is
allowed;
ii. that the majority decision of the lower court
delivered on the 22″ day of December, 2023 is
hereby set aside while the dissenting decision
byJ.E. Ekanem JCA is Affirmed;
iii. that the suit instituted on 20″” October, 2023
before the Trial Enugu State High Court in Suit
No: E/882/2023, BETWEEN: Aniagu Emmanuel
(Plaintiff) AND 1. Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP) 2. AMB. liya Umar Damagun 3. Sen.
Samuel N. Anyanwu (National Secretary, PDP)
(for themselves and as representing The
National Executive and Working Committee of (PDP) 4. High Chief Ali Odefa (National Vice
Chairman, South East Zone of PDP)
(Defendants) is hereby struck out for want of
Jurisdiction, and
iv. that parties to bear their respective costs.
