On Thursday, Keystone Bank held a solidarity dinner to honour the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, and the Coordinator-General of the Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalisation Programme (YEIDEP), Comrade Kennedy Iyere, recognising their efforts in advancing the initiative aimed at combating poverty and enhancing the lives of Nigerian youths.
During the event, Minister Olawande commended President Bola Tinubu’s initiative, YEIDEP, and expressed gratitude to Keystone Bank’s management, led by Hassan Imam, for their support towards the federal government and the empowerment of young people.
Olawande highlighted the significance of equipping the youth with necessary resources and opportunities, reaffirming the ministry’s dedication to collaboration in various forms to guide, protect, and empower the younger generation for a brighter future. He particularly praised Mrs Nnenna Anyim-Okoro, Executive Director of Corporate Banking and South, for her exemplary commitment to youth development.
In his address, Comrade Iyere emphasised the necessity of engaging youth in productive activities, stating that such involvement is crucial for reducing crime and fostering economic growth.
He acknowledged Keystone Bank’s pivotal role in driving economic progress and shaping the future of the nation.
Mrs Anyim-Okoro, in her remarks, acknowledged the visionary leadership of President Tinubu in initiating YEIDEP. She announced that Keystone Bank has established a high-level committee dedicated to advancing the programme within the institution.
Additionally, the bank has launched a digital platform facilitating the opening and management of YEIDEP accounts.
“As a key financial partner of the YEIDEP initiative, Keystone Bank is committed to long-term collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, focusing on implementing the core objectives of YEIDEP and promoting youth empowerment and financial inclusion,” Anyim-Okoro stated.
The event was attended by several key officials from Keystone Bank, including Olayemi Sule, Group Head of Retail and Digital Banking; Obinna Uwadoka, Head of General Commerce, CBD; Chinyelu Ogufere, Group Head of Emerging Sectors and Industries; and John Enukorah, Group Head of Private Banking, all of whom reinforced the bank’s commitment to supporting youth initiatives and economic development in Nigeria.
