A police officer from Kaduna State, Hadaina Hussaini Dan-Taki, has threatened reprisal attacks on southerners living in northern Nigeria.

His statement came in the wake of the brutal killing of 16 northerners in Uromi, Edo State, within the Esan North East Local Government Area.

In a passionate Facebook post on Tuesday, Dan-Taki swore by Almighty God, declaring that northerners would take decisive action against southerners.

Dan-Taki wrote, “I swear to Almighty God, we must do something for you guys. Have you forgotten about all your brothers living here in the North? Mark my words, after one week you shall see the result.”

Following widespread criticism over his comments, Dan-Taki changed his first name and restricted access to his Facebook page, limiting viewers’ ability to see his posts and comments.

An X user, Uche, who goes by the handle #UcheDIgboezeson, shared a screenshot of Dan-Taki’s post and tagged the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, with the caption, “#Princemoye1, take care of this sir.”

Adejobi swiftly acknowledged the post, stating, “Noted for necessary action. Thanks.”
