Prominent Abia social media influencer Tochukwu Ogbuagu has declared that Abia North Lawmaker, senator Orji Uzor Kalu stands out as the best-performing legislator when compared to others representing the state in both chambers of the National Assembly.
This verdict comes after a blogger from KepukepuTV ignited public debate by raising concerns about specific sections of the newly commissioned Abariba-Ohafia to Ndi Okoroc Road, which was constructed by the senator.
However, the matter was put to rest when a Civil Society Organisation Investigative Council clarified that the initial 600-metre stretch of the road was built to standard and urged the contractors to address the remaining 400-metre section, which was not included in the original plan.
In light of these developments, Tochukwu, known for monitoring ongoing infrastructure projects across the state, affirmed on Wednesday that despite his recent criticisms of the Abia-North Lawmaker, he still considers the former Abia Governor the best when compared to other lawmakers in the state.
To justify his position, the blogger recounted an investigative tour of the Ndi Inya Abam community, which had been neglected for years.
His findings revealed that the residents joyfully chanted the senator’s name in appreciation for the transformation he had brought to their community for the first time since its establishment.
Tochukwu shared photos and videos on his social media page showcasing the infrastructure projects undertaken by Kalu, who chairs the Senate committee on the South-East Development Commission (SEDC).
He referred to the senator as the best in the country, stating in his post:
“Based on my latest findings during my ongoing tour of the state, if you were to compare the senator representing Abia South and Abia Central, alongside the federal house member for Obingwa, Osisioma, and Ugwunagbo LGA, with the senator representing Abia North, I would still choose Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, despite our differences and conflicts. He has achieved more than any other senator in the country, especially in rural areas.
He continued, “He has improved our access roads, built school blocks, provided electricity, drilled boreholes, and supported agricultural equipment, among other initiatives.”
Tochukwu also criticised other lawmakers for merely making speeches regarding development while failing to take meaningful action.
He concluded, “While others are still delivering lengthy speeches, why is it that only OUK continues to attract road construction to this day? I travelled to Ndi Inya Abam yesterday and shed tears as the villagers celebrated OUK for the transformation he has initiated for the first time since their community’s creation,” he stated.
