A high-level delegation from the Labour Party (LP), led by Abia State Governor Dr. Alex Otti, visited the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday to address significant developments within the party.
During the meeting, Governor Otti presented a Certified True Copy of the recent Supreme Court judgment regarding the LP’s leadership. He stated that the purpose of the visit was to “foster clarity, mutual understanding, and institutional alignment regarding the LP’s current structure.”
The delegation was welcomed by INEC’s Acting Chairman, Mr. Sam Olumekun, along with other National Commissioners. Discussions focused on enhancing collaboration and reinforcing democratic values between the LP and the Commission.
Mr. Olumekun emphasised the Commission’s “unwavering commitment to neutrality, transparency, and the rule of law” in fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities.
