Buba Galadima

Buba Galadima, a prominent member of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), alleges that there was a conspiracy to destabilize Kano and compel the federal government to impose a state of emergency in the region.

Speaking on AIT’s political program “Jigsaw” on Tuesday, Galadima asserted that those orchestrating the plan did so without President Bola Tinubu’s awareness.

“Regarding the situation in Kano, I can confidently assert that Tinubu was completely in the dark about the arrangements that were made,” he stated. “There was a carefully crafted scheme to set up the Kano state government, including the Emir, in a way that would facilitate the declaration of a state of emergency.”

Galadima further claimed that the plot involved a high-level meeting in Abuja, where a key figure, who was being groomed to become the Emir of Kano, was deliberately absent.

“There was a meeting at the residence of a senior government official in Abuja, and the individual slated to be appointed Emir was sent on Umrah. As I speak to you now, he is in Saudi Arabia,” he revealed.

“Their plan is that if the Emir were to be invited today, he would be detained in Abuja. Once he’s detained, the military will be put on alert, and the throne will be declared vacant.”

When pressed by the program’s host to name the individual in question, Galadima chose not to disclose any identities.

“No, I don’t want to mention names. You should investigate who is currently in Saudi Arabia among the princes of Kano. Everyone in Nigeria is aware of what is unfolding.”
