Dr. Jerry Patrick Onuokaibe, Chief Executive Officer of First Choice Afro Villa Ltd and Mburubu Construction Company, has stated that Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugu State has transformed Mburubu community into a preferred destination for its people.
In an Easter message shared with newsmen on Saturday to mark this year’s Easter celebration, Dr. Onuokaibe highlighted that governor Mbah’s infrastructure projects, including road construction, have fostered a renewed desire among Mburubu indigenes to return home during festive seasons.
He explained that prior to Governor Mbah’s tenure, many residents who lived outside the state seldom returned due to poor road conditions and a lack of basic amenities. However, he noted that this situation has significantly improved since the governor took office.
Dr. Onuokaibe commended Governor Mbah for prioritising rural areas like Mburubu, emphasising that the construction of roads, enhancements in water supply, and improvements in security have revitalised the community. He remarked that visitors now feel safer and more welcomed when they come to Mburubu.
He urged the community to continue supporting the governor’s initiatives, describing him as a man of action with a clear vision. He also wished everyone a peaceful and joyful Easter, encouraging them to contemplate the themes of sacrifice, love, and hope.
In his message, he stated:
“As we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, I bring Easter greetings to the people of Mburubu, to every Nkanu son and daughter, and to all indigenes of Enugu State returning home for this sacred season. May the peace, love, and hope of Easter renew our hearts and guide our steps in the right direction.
This year’s Easter meets us at a time of visible change across Enugu State, especially in our beloved Mburubu. Our returning sons and daughters are not just home to be with family — they are witnesses to the transformational leadership of His Excellency, Governor Peter Ndubisi Mbah. His efforts have reached even our smallest communities in the state, proving that no part of the state is being left behind.
We are deeply grateful that the internal roads in Mburubu — including the Mburubu–Nara-Nkerefi Road and the ongoing construction of the Nomeh-Mburubu-Nara link road — have received attention under this administration. These roads are not only connecting us to neighbouring communities but also opening our town to commerce, development, and easier access to basic services. For us in Mburubu, this is a new dawn, as our people coming back can feel it, same with the type of hospital that he is constructing in our village, the first of its kind.
Beyond Mburubu, the construction of 74 urban roads in 2024 and the continuation of 141 roads in 2025 across Enugu State is a clear indication of a government that is working with purpose. Movement across the state has become smoother, and rural areas are now part of the larger development conversation.
Governor Mbah’s focus on healthcare, especially the equipping and upgrading of hospitals in rural areas, is giving our people a chance to live longer and healthier lives. His firm approach to security has also restored confidence, allowing our communities to celebrate this Easter in peace and joy.
We equally wish to thank the Executive Chairman of Nkanu East Local Government, Hon. Sydney Okechukwu Edeh, for appointing sons and daughters of Mburubu into key positions of his leadership. This gesture has strengthened the bond between our people and the local government and reminds us that our contributions are valued and respected.
As we reflect on the blessings of this season, I reaffirm that the people of Mburubu remain fully behind Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah. We shall continue to support his administration and offer every help needed to keep the vision alive. His success is our shared success, and we are proud to be part of the journey.
May this Easter bring healing where there is pain, hope where there is despair, and unity where there is division. Let us remain a people of purpose, faith, and love.”
