President Bola Ahmed Tinubu returned to Abuja on Monday evening following a two-week working visit to Europe.

Tinubu’s aircraft landed at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at approximately 9:50 pm, where he was welcomed by senior officials from his administration.

President Tinubu departed on Wednesday, April 2, spending several days in Paris, the capital of France, before continuing to London two weekends ago.

During his time in Europe, he maintained consistent communication with key government officials, overseeing critical national issues, including giving directives to security chiefs to tackle emerging threats in various parts of the country.

In Paris, President Tinubu conducted a high-level meeting with Mr. Massad Boulos, the Senior Advisor for Africa at the United States Department of State. Their discussions reportedly centred on enhancing bilateral collaboration to improve regional security and promote sustainable economic development across Africa.

A significant aspect of their talks involved joint efforts to foster lasting peace in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), highlighting the importance of multilateral cooperation and the engagement of regional stakeholders.

This meeting emphasised Nigeria’s ongoing collaboration with international partners to address complex security and development challenges across the African continent.

Among those present to receive him upon his return were George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation; Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff; Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser; Atiku Bagudu, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning; and Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
