Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has taken to social media to voice her discontent with Nigeria’s electricity supply system, labelling the current tariff band arrangement as a “huge fraud.”

In a series of posts, Henshaw highlighted the stark contrast between the high electricity tariffs and the actual supply received by consumers. She expressed her frustration, noting that although she is in a band that should guarantee over 20 hours of power daily, she is fortunate to receive just two hours on a “good day.”

The award-winning actress questioned the rationale behind the billing system, emphasising that consumers are compelled to pay inflated rates for electricity that is rarely available. “Paying for 20+ hours of power and barely getting two? That’s not inefficiency—that’s FRAUD,” she stated.

In a subsequent tweet, Henshaw drew a parallel between the electricity billing system and the recently collapsed Ponzi scheme CBEX, asserting, “This electricity fraud is bigger than the latest Ponzi crash.”
