A heartbreaking event has struck the Rivers State Police Command as Police Inspector Maxwell Zabu tragically took his own life at the Eagle Island residence of a former chairman of the Port Harcourt Local Government Area.
According to THE WHISTLER, the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, April 22.
The police post at Eagle Island received the notification, prompting detectives from the Azikiwe Police Division to visit the scene for initial investigations.
SP Grace Iringe-Koko, spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, confirmed the incident and stated that investigations are currently underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the inspector’s death.
Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, has mandated a thorough investigation by the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) in Port Harcourt.
The motive behind Inspector Zabu’s actions remains unclear, and the state command is actively seeking to uncover the factors leading to this tragic event.
