Delta State Governor, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has officially left the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP ) to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Governor Oborevwori, who was elected in 2023 under the PDP banner, has made this move as part of a strategic political realignment in anticipation of the 2027 general election.
The announcement of his defection followed a high-level closed-door meeting held at the Government House in Asaba on Wednesday.
Festus Ahon, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, confirmed the governor’s switch in party allegiance, stating that the defection came after “wide consultations with political stakeholders and in the interest of Delta’s long-term development.”
