Fiery and popular Anglican priest, Rev. Canon Lumen Kristy Eboh of the God in Action Adoration Ministry, has declared that Sir Paul Chukwuma, the governorship candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), will emerge victorious in the upcoming Anambra State gubernatorial election.
Rev. Canon Eboh made the declaration during a vigil held on Friday night at the Adoration ground in Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area, which was attended by Uzu Okagbue, the YPP deputy governorship candidate. The God in Action Adoration Ministry draws thousands of worshippers from across Anambra State.
Speaking passionately to the congregation, the priest criticised the current Anambra State leadership, asserting that the administration has “driven the state into darkness” and that “Anambra deserves light.”
“The current government in Anambra State has lost it and has thrown the state into darkness,” Eboh said. “But hope is not lost. Sir Paul Chukwuma and Uzu Okagbue are coming with the fear of God and will govern Anambra State with the fear of God and cause the state to shine like a thousand stars.”
Rev. Eboh went further to personally vouch for the character and leadership qualities of the YPP candidates, assuring worshippers that the team would not disappoint.
“Victory is yours,” he declared, as he called Uzu Okagbue forward to address the large gathering of worshippers.
In his remarks, Uzu Okagbue expressed gratitude for the warm reception and spiritual atmosphere of the vigil.
“I am happy and glad to be at such a gathering of praying Christians,” he said, before speaking on the readiness of Sir Paul Chukwuma to serve Anambra with humility and purpose.
Okagbue drew a sharp contrast between the YPP’s vision and the current administration, assuring that a YPP-led government would not exploit small businesses through over-taxation.
“Instead of overtaxing petty business owners like the current administration does, Sir Paul Chukwuma’s government will create more businesses and strengthen existing Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across Anambra State,” he told the jubilant congregation.
He also addressed the issue of insecurity, promising a decisive approach to ending violence and restoring peace in the state.
“Insecurity will be a thing of the past under our incoming administration. Everyone here knows someone who has been a victim of the insecurity plaguing our state. We will change that,” he assured.
Interestingly, earlier reports this year claimed that Canon Lumen Kristy Eboh had endorsed incumbent Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo. However, the priest used Friday’s vigil to set the record straight.
“There will be a change of government in November,” he boldly declared. “The YPP is poised to take over from Soludo.”
The declaration is the latest in a growing wave of momentum for the YPP and its candidate, Sir Paul Chukwuma, as the November 2025 election draws closer.
