The Anambra State Police Command has recovered the lifeless body of Mr. Ozor Augustine Chido, an alleged kidnap victim, in Nimo community, Njikoka Local Government Area. The tragic discovery was made in the early hours of June 23, 2025, near the piggery farm where he was reportedly abducted days earlier.
According to a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Mr. Chido was abducted on the morning of June 19, 2025, at his farm in Nimo. Despite sustained efforts by operatives to rescue him, the operation ended in tragedy when his remains were found on June 23.
“The Command sympathizes with the victim’s family and the community and assures that it shall leave no stone unturned in unmasking the suspects behind this dastardly act,” the statement read.
Ikenga confirmed that the victim’s body has been deposited at the morgue while investigations and manhunt for the perpetrators continue.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Orutugu, has extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and the entire Nimo community. He reaffirmed the Command’s resolve to ensure justice is served.
“Further developments would be communicated,” Ikenga added, calling on members of the public to provide any useful information that could aid in apprehending the culprits.
