Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Tuesday held a high-level meeting with key leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), including former national chairman Uche Secondus, as part of ongoing consultations for a proposed political coalition ahead of the 2027 general election.

The closed-door meeting, which took place at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja, brought together prominent figures of the party focused on shaping a formidable opposition against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Other PDP stalwarts in attendance included former Senate President David Mark, former Jigawa State governor Sule Lamido, as well as ex-governors Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto), Liyel Imoke (Cross River), Babangida Aliyu (Niger), and Sam Egwu (Ebonyi).

The gathering is said to be part of broader consultations leading to the formal unveiling of a coalition platform aimed at unseating the APC-led government in the next election cycle.
