Abia North Peace Foundation, a prominent socio-political group, has praised Christian leaders across Abia State for their unwavering support of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, describing the relationship between the lawmaker and the church as one grounded in mutual respect, selfless service, and shared values.
Speaking on behalf of the Foundation, Chief Nnanna Ukaegbu commended clerics in the state for their consistent efforts in promoting peace and speaking truth to power, noting that their alignment with Senator Kalu reflects a common vision for development and unity in Abia North.
“We want to sincerely thank our revered men of God for standing boldly for truth and justice,” Chief Ukaegbu said.
He emphasized that the church has remained a cornerstone of peace in the region, and its support for Senator Kalu is a testament to a long-standing partnership that began during Kalu’s tenure as Governor.
“Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has always stood with the church, even from his days as governor. He built churches, supported mission schools, awarded scholarships, promoted religious harmony, and ensured that religious institutions had a voice in governance.
Today, as a Senator, he continues to partner with the church to promote peace and prosperity across our communities.”
Highlighting Kalu’s recent achievements, Ukaegbu noted the construction of over 100 rural roads across Abia North, distribution of educational materials, installation of solar-powered streetlights, and empowerment of local farmers with fertilizers and agro-chemicals.
He further applauded the Senator for sponsoring numerous students on international scholarships and for his consistent outreach to the less privileged.
“The Senator’s commitment to both infrastructural and human capital development is clear for all to see. We urge the church to continue to pray for him and for lasting peace in Abia State,” he added.
The Foundation reaffirmed its dedication to promoting dialogue, peacebuilding, and inclusive development, urging all stakeholders to unite in the spirit of cooperation, especially as political activities gather momentum ahead of future elections.
