The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has disassociated itself from widespread reports claiming it has appointed new State Chairmen across the country.
In a statement released by Bolaji Abdullahi, the National Publicity Secretary of the party and spokesperson for the opposition coalition, the ADC described the reports as false and misleading, urging the public to disregard them.
“The African Democratic Congress (ADC) wishes to make it known to the public that the party is not aware of any appointment of State Chairmen as being circulated on the social media space,” the statement read in part.
The party also condemned the deliberate spread of fake news and cautioned Nigerians to be wary of fraudulent online platforms posing as official registration portals for the ADC.
It advised members of the public to rely solely on information released through the party’s official communication channels for accurate updates.
The clarification comes amid growing concerns over misinformation and unauthorized political activity being circulated through unofficial sources.
