The Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) and prominent Ijaw leader, High Chief Dr. Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has mourned the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing him as a principled and patriotic statesman.
In a heartfelt statement, Tompolo commended Buhari’s contributions to Nigeria’s development during his presidency from 2015 to 2023. He praised the former president’s character, noting that Buhari was “not materialistic” and consistently sought individuals of integrity to serve the country.
“President Buhari was a man of principle and patriotism,” Tompolo stated. “He contributed immensely to Nigeria’s development and always looked for trustworthy people to help advance the country.”
Tompolo also acknowledged Buhari’s strategic decision to engage Tantita Security Services in 2022 to safeguard vital oil and gas infrastructure. He said the move was a pivotal moment in Nigeria’s efforts to improve oil production and tackle economic sabotage.
“That singular decision to work with Tantita marked a turning point in the fight to restore Nigeria’s oil output,” he said.
Offering condolences to Buhari’s family, close associates, and the entire nation, Tompolo prayed for the peaceful repose of the former president’s soul.
