The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State is in deep mourning following the sudden death of Hon. Chidi Ogbodo, described by party leaders as “a true progressive” and one of the strongest pillars of the party since its formation.
From the inception of APC in 2013 until his untimely passing, Chidi Ogbodo dedicated his life to promoting progressive ideals in Enugu State. He served diligently as the official photographer of APC Enugu State, capturing countless historic moments for the party and its members.
Until his death, Chidi Ogbodo was also a staff of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), where he was known for his commitment and dedication to duty.
In a statement signed by Dr. Ben Nwoye, former Chairman of APC Enugu State and Leader of the Progressives Group in the state, Ogbodo’s death on July 14, 2025, was described as “a devastating blow to the progressive family.”
“Chidi was a committed and passionate party man who believed in the ideals of progressivism. His contributions and sacrifices will never be forgotten,” Nwoye said.
Chidi Ogbodo is survived by his wife, three young children—including an infant—his mother, siblings, and a host of relatives, friends, and political associates who now mourn his painful loss.
According to the burial arrangements released by his family and party associates, he will be laid to rest on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, in his hometown, Obeagu Community, Enugu South Local Government Area.
Party members, colleagues from FAAN, friends, and well‑wishers are invited to join in paying their last respects to a man whose life was devoted to service and loyalty to the progressive cause.
“Honorable Chidi Ogbodo’s death is not just a loss to his family but to the entire progressive movement in Enugu State. May his soul rest in perfect peace.”
