In a major shake-up of federal agencies aimed at driving reforms and boosting institutional efficiency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Muhammad Babangida, son of former Military President Ibrahim Babangida, as the Chairman of the revamped Bank of Agriculture.

The announcement, contained in a statement issued on Friday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, also confirmed eight other high-profile appointments across strategic government agencies.

According to the statement, Babangida, 53, brings a wealth of experience and international exposure to his new role.

“Muhammad Babangida, 53, is an alumnus of the European University in Montreux, Switzerland, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Public Relations and Business Communication. He later attended Harvard Business School’s Executive Program on Corporate Governance in 2002,” the release stated.
