Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi-Ajagunla, representing Osun Central Senatorial District, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

His exit marks another high-profile defection from the PDP in Osun State, following the recent resignation of Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

Fadahunsi had earlier attributed his departure to “irreconcilable differences with the party’s leadership.”

Fadeyi-Ajagunla’s resignation was contained in a personally signed letter dated June 12, 2025, and addressed to the PDP Chairman of Ward 3, Oke-Ejigbo, Ila-Orangun.

The letter reads in part:

“I wish to formally notify you that I am resigning my membership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect.

Irreconcilable differences and irreparable division that have emerged and court cases and counter court cases in the last three years, which has created faction in the party at the national level.

This was concluded after consultation and engagement with my political associates, family and friends.

Thanking you in advance for accepting my resignation.

Thank you.”

The senator’s departure adds to growing concerns over the internal crisis within the opposition party, which has seen several notable members exit the party in recent months.
