The Enugu Ekunie Socio-Political Organization has applauded Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for what it described as his “visionary leadership and transformative strides” in infrastructure, education, and innovation across Enugu State.
In a statement signed by Comrade Eric Eze, the group particularly commended the Governor’s ongoing SMART School initiative, describing it as “a bold move towards elevating teaching and learning to meet the demands of the 21st century.”
“Governor Mbah’s commitment to inclusive development and technological advancement has not only ignited hope across communities but has also positioned Enugu as a leader in forward-thinking governance,” the group said.
“The SMART School project reflects a deep understanding of how education drives empowerment, prosperity, and long-term growth.”
While showering praise on the Governor, Enugu Ekunie called for a strengthening of the SMART School initiative through strategic public-private partnerships. The group stressed that bringing in credible professionals in education infrastructure would help guarantee sustainability, quality assurance, and operational efficiency.
At the center of this recommendation is Engr. Anthony Isiani Nwachukwu, Chairman and CEO of Schools Development & Support (SDS) International Limited. The group highlighted his track record in delivering world-class SMART schools in Lagos State and urged Governor Mbah to leverage such expertise to realize and sustain Enugu’s educational aspirations.
“Engr. Nwachukwu represents the caliber of technical leadership required to translate this vision into enduring reality,” the statement noted.
The group said it had toured SDS International’s factory in Lagos and observed innovations such as:
- Modular SMART classrooms for scalability and rapid deployment.
- Digital whiteboards, interactive displays, and adaptive lighting to enhance learning.
- Locally manufactured educational tools designed for durability in tropical climates and energy efficiency.
- Classrooms structured for personalized and inclusive learning experiences.
- Technology integration through cloud-based platforms, adaptive software, and blended learning models.
- Green materials and community participation for sustainable development.
- Robust teacher training, monitoring, and partnerships for lasting impact.
Enugu Ekunie urged the Governor to focus on three key actions:
- Partner with SDS International and other industry experts with proven records.
- Conduct a comprehensive audit of existing SMART school structures to address defects and prevent further deterioration.
- Institute strict quality assurance processes to uphold educational standards.
“Supporting Governor Mbah with vital insights and proven expertise is crucial to catalyzing long-term success,” the group emphasized.
“We remain committed to championing pragmatic solutions that bridge policy with impact, ensuring that students across Enugu State thrive in secure, innovative, and inspiring environments.”
