In a deeply emotional tribute, former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, has announced the heartbreaking death of Hon. Clarita Ogar, the Labour Party’s House of Representatives candidate for Yala/Ogoja in the 2023 general elections.

“With a weighty heart, on behalf of the entire Obidient family, I regret to announce the untimely passing of our dear sister and comrade, Hon. Clarita Ogar,” Obi said in a statement on Friday.

Obi disclosed that he personally reached out to Ogar’s family only to be confronted with the devastating news. “I want to again sincerely offer my condolences on behalf of my family and the Obidient family,” he added, his words heavy with grief.

Describing Ogar as much more than a politician, Obi said, “Clarita Ogar was not just a patriot but also a fearless woman who stood for justice and a better Nigeria.”

The late politician, admired within the Obidient movement for her courage and unwavering dedication, is being remembered as a beacon of hope and integrity.

“May her soul rest in perfect peace, and may God give her family and all of us the fortitude to bear her sad, irreplaceable loss,” Obi prayed.

He concluded his heartfelt message with a blessing: “God Almighty continue to bless her family and all the Obidient family always.”

Hon. Clarita Ogar’s passing has left the Labour Party and the wider Obidient movement in mourning, celebrating a life that embodied selfless service and a vision for a just Nigeria.
