Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, has congratulated the Super Falcons of Nigeria on winning their historic 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title, describing their victory as a testament to the indomitable Nigerian spirit.

The Super Falcons delivered one of the most dramatic performances in the tournament’s history. After falling two goals behind in the first half, the team staged a remarkable comeback in Rabat, silencing a huge home crowd as they defeated Morocco to lift the WAFCON 2025 trophy.
The comeback was powered by goals from Esther Okoronkwo, Folashade Ijamilusi, and Jennifer Echegini, sealing Nigeria’s dominance in African women’s football.

Celebrating the team’s victory on his verified social media handle, @PNMbah, Governor Mbah wrote:
“Congratulations, Super Falcons, on your well-deserved WAFCON 2025 triumph.
Coming from two goals down to beat the Moroccans to the trophy underscores the resilience and invincibility of the Nigerian spirit and what we can achieve as a people by working together in oneness of mind.
We are super proud of you.
Again, congratulations, girls, and keep flying higher.”

The victory not only strengthens Nigeria’s reputation as a powerhouse in African women’s football but also highlights, as Mbah noted, “what we can achieve as a people by working together in oneness of mind.”
